Subdrive is a podcast, blog, digital label, creative studio, all rolled into one tasty, easy to digest package.
In short, we’re what ad people like to call new media content creators.
Subdrive started as a radio show and podcast in 2005 at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. It eventually evolved into a blog, and just last year we re-launched as an open-source dance music web label and creative collective. Subdrive sells and gives away the parts to our artist’s songs as well as giving away releases for free. This model creates a user-generated ecosystem that fits the blog mentality, discovering new talent, and creating endless content for people to share and improve upon openly.
We have had showcases at the Winter Music Conference in Miami as well as the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City. Subdrive artists have been played on BBC Radio 1 and have performed around the world.
As one of the first underground electronic music podcasts to hit the internet, we were also one of the first accepted into iTunes when the Podcast section was opened.
To this day, Subdrive continues to feature new and innovative artists from around the world, changing what the concept of a music and creative label can be.
