Our newest signing, curl up, just dropped his debut EP with us on Friday. “Biomechanical” crosses all genres, mixing sounds from rave, hardcore, moombahton, cumbia, dubstep, and fidget. It’s a crazy EP and definitely a reason to keep an eye and ear out for curl up.

New Subdrive artist Vanguard Bots releases Debut single “Codex Loss”

Out now on Subdrive

We’re psyched to announce that the mysterious (depending on where you look) futurist magnate Vanguard Bots has released his debut single, “Codex Loss”, with Subdrive this weekend. It’s a cut from his forthcoming AudioLucinogens EP coming out later this summer. The tune is a contrast to our past stuff, but a nod to our commitment of the cutting edge of darker electronic music.

“Codex Loss” is a post-apocalyptic anthem with grinding bass, compressed and distorted drums, and an attitude that heralds the arrival of the Singularity.

His debut EP will feature more fantastic tunes in the vein of “Codex Loss” as well as collborations with Subdrive crew Terror Dactel and more.

Fans of SebastiAn, Nosaj Thing, Flying Lotus, the Gaslamp Killer take notice….you’ll love Vanguard Bots.

Download the tune for free exclusively on Soundcloud.

Subdrive signs THE CULTURE OF ME

The Culture of Me playing Webster Hall

After a long partnership in documenting our events, our dear friend THE CULTURE OF ME is taking the next step and taking on the reigns as a producer and DJ. With gigs at Webster Hall, Happy Ending, and almost every single event in all of New York City including SXSW, THE CULTURE OF ME is on the verge of becoming the next Oakenfold.

We sat down and spoke with CULTURE and spoke about his direction. “My sound is pretty much a combination of snark and bass….yeaa…” he said from his hidden darkroom. “The snarkiness is nastier than any bassline some dubstep guy could make.”

Expect to hear his new release out later this summer called “THIS.” followed by an EP filled with hashtags about stupid people and their actions.

Out Now (SUB008) SEAN KRAMES – NIGHTSTALKER

Sean Krames Nightstalker Art

We’re really excited to announce that our newest single is officially out now! SUB008 – NIGHTSTALKER – comes from Sean Krames, better known to the world as the booty-bass, club shaking, COBRA KRAMES. His Subdrive debut, as well as his official debut as Sean Krames, could not be more of a paradigm shift for his sound.

Culling from techno, rave, house, and the darkest corners of underground clubs worldwide, Sean Krames’ debut “NIGHTSTALKER” (w/ Firewalker) sports techno of a darker form. With twisted rave organs, hand-percussion, and builds that tease the crowd, only to drop them into an even bigger groove.

A complete contrast to Krames’ earlier work, his new sound shows his growth as a producer and artist, as well as his versatility and skill with club music.

We’re psyched to share this with you all and we hope you dig it as much as we do! Stream the entire release below, and be sure to pick it up on iTunes now with Juno and Beatport soon to follow!

Teenage Engineering’s OP-1 Synth (& Swedish House Mafia music video)

Teenage Engineering's OP-1

The Swedish House Mafia have just released their official music video for their big tune “One (Your Name)” that features Pharrell Williams. That’s all great and all, the tune is massive, but more interestingly though is that the video is essentially a 4 minute commercial for the upcoming, unreleased Teenage Engineering OP-1, a synthesizer/MIDI-controller that touts wireless syncing, a ‘tape’ feature, and more.

Check out this awesome synth and the music video after the jump.

Nobody Beats the Drum arrive in NYC

While we were down at this year’s Winter Music Conference in Miami, Dutch label-mate and awesome pool jumper Mike Mago told us about this fantastic group from his homeland of Holland called Nobody Beats the Drum.

He showed us the music videos, where they fight with home-made transformer outfits, the insane stop-motion animated video with the blocks, etc. We were pretty impressed. Fast forward to June and it’s announced they’re performing at New York’s own Brooklyn Bowl, an awesome venue where you can go bowling while DJs and bands perform live in the same room. Check out the videos below after the jump.
